So the question I always ask my cool girls of the week are their top 5 closet must haves. I've cheated a little by including two different jean jackets..but you get the point. Anywho, I figured I would talk about my top 5's, and why they're my tops 5's!
1. Jean Jacket: I first got obsessed with jean jackets some time around the end of my middle school days and the start of my high school days. It was a vintage deep blue Ralph Lauren and even to this day I'm still obsessed. Jean jackets are kind of just that piece that you can never go wrong with, because it goes with everything. Below are two of my favorites. One I found at Forever21 for around 20$ and the other is from Topshop. I especially love my Topshop one because it adds that extra warmness during the Spring time. I also just love the look of the wool on the collar.
2. Black Skinny Jeans: You know those jeans in your closet that you feel were just made for you? These jeans are that for me. I picked them up in Uniqlo at their Broadway location. I've ended up DIY'ing them in a sense by cutting slits by the knees (which you can't see pictured) But I love love LOVE my jeans. You literally can't go wrong with black skinny jeans. And no dark blue denim doesn't count. YOU NEED A PAIR OF BLACK SKINNIES OK!
3.Band Tee: (Preferably a bit oversized) For those days when you're running late and need to throw something on that makes you look slightly put together, go for an oversized band tee. These are a classic, and if you happen to be a fan of the band you're sporting, it'll be a great conversation starter.
4.The ankle boot: I feel like these will always be a classic....like there's not a moment when I can see these going out of style? Boots like this, especially if they have a pointed toe, really just bring an outfit together and step it up a notch. They also add an element of rock n roll.
5. Your version of the LBD: I definitely believe in having an 'LBD' but i'm not so sure it needs to necessarily be black! I picked up this piece from an Urban surplus store in Chicago, and I think I spent 30$ on it. You always wanna have a dress in your closet you can easily throw on and feel comfortable in. This dress is that for me! I can throw a sweater on top and pair it with some tights, throw a turtle neck under, or where as is. *sigh* Versatility is truly amazing
