It was 2009, I was 12, & It’s on with Alexa Chung premiered on MTV. I easily fell in love.
As I type this I’m also scrolling through my Chung Affair board on Pinterest, which encompasses everything Alexa Chung. From what I know (mind you i’m trying to restrain myself from giving you her whole life story) she began as a model, which will be obvious when you take a peak at her, but through modeling she weaved her way into the fashion world, thus earning the title of, “it-girl.”
Chungs style can only be described in my opinion, as the classic kooky french girl (trust me on this). You can spot her at all the fashion shows you can think of dressed to the t at one moment, then see her gracing the covers of magazines like Vogue, Elle, i-D, etc. She’s just kind of a big deal.
As I’m looking back on Chung’s career I can feel myself getting giddy again about her. If you’re not already hooked then you might be one of the lost ones, however there might be a way of saving you.
In 2013 Chung came out with a book entitled IT. The word IT has been one that’s surrounded Chung for a while, mostly because she is IT. The book basically goes through Chung’s life, her ups, her downs, finding love, going through break ups, and the humor surrounding the term IT. (accompanied along with doodles by Chung herself) I read this book in basically one sitting during one of my break periods at school, then went on to find a way to give it as a birthday gift to almost all of my friends.
More or less Chung is just like that girl in school that is effortlessly funny and cool…basically the type of girl you want to be friends with.
